Bollywood Inspired: Desi Twist

As promised, here I am with my second look for the Bollywood Inspired, or like a fellow blogger mentioned Kangana Inspired look. Let us face it – we are a country which eats, drinks and breathes movies. And bollywood movies to be precise. Ask any of my friends and they will all tell you that I am filmy to the core. Dramatic, expressive, over enthusiastic – I believe that lifeΒ like our movies should be happy and musical.

I really had a lovely time dressing up this way – I usually am dressed in very casual and classic attire because of work. But dressing up quirky once in a while breaks the casual monotony and when quirky is inspired by the larger than life bollywood – what could be better? I am thinking of doing this more often… letting my quirky side take over the blog once in a while. Do tell me if this is a good/bad idea πŸ™‚

For this look, I chose to wear my jumpsuit with a desi twist and hence the name. I paired it with a pink bandhini print dupatta wrapped around my neck as a scarf and teamed it up with the denim jacket for that structured look. I know that it is very hot in the rest of the country and wearing a jacket over a jumpsuit is probably not an option anywhere. But if you are in Bangalore – you know that you will need a jacket by the time evening hits. I chose my Global Desi flat chappals for this outfit to match the desi tones of the dupatta.

Hey! I just discovered your blog from the UK and really love it! You are so inspiring and beautiful! My husband is from Bangalore and I am British and have quite a fusion of Indian British culture. I love how you mix traditional Indian style with some high fashion and casual comfort. Your personal spin on fashion is truly beautiful!
