Wardrobe Experiments

If you have been following me on Instagram, you would know that I was attending a destination wedding in Goa last week. Typically, I do not experiment a lot with my traditional look, especially during an actual wedding. Posing infront of the camera is one thing but actually pulling a wardrobe experiment in a wedding is a whole new game. But this time I was adamant to try something different. So I decided to team up a t-shirt with my ethnic attire.

Look 1: Sangeet Function T-Shirt with a Saree

For the sangeet function I teamed up my black t-shirt with my black saree. I wore a black and white neck piece and some tribal-inspired bangles to go along. I also wore a black bindi to add to the drama.

Look 2: Wedding Function T-Shirt with Lehenga

For the next day, I teamed up the same black t-shirt with a very heavy and bright yellow lehenga and draped a hot pink dupatta along with it. I wore a simple kundan neck piece and some pink bangles with it.

So this was my tryst with wardrobe experimentation. I always want to look a little different from the rest when it comes to wedding attires. The deal with trend and most of the wedding trends is that almost everyone is wearing the same thing in different color combinations. I think if you really want to stand out, you need to experiment. I totally loved my experiments with the black t-shirt and I did receive a lot of adulation from all my aunts for being smartly dressed. Tell me how did I look – was it a complete fail or did I actually manage to pull this off?
